GOLF DAY We held a Patrons Golf Day on September 18th at Stockbrook Golf & Country Club. Our patron Martin Peters, MBE, was instrumental in the organisation of the event and was our guest of honour with Clive Allen from West Ham. Other guests of honour included John Beer, British Gymnastics GB Squad Trampoline Coach. The players started at 10.00 with breakfast followed by a full round of golf. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather and all the golfers remarked that they had a great round of golf. They all sat down for dinner, prizegiving and a charity auction. Auction items included: a signed 1966 World Cup football shirt donated by Martin Peters which was sold for an amazing £1000! Other items included a cricket bat signed by the Surrey team, a signed Spurs pennant, meal vouchers from local restaurants and much, much more. The auction was loads of fun and raised over £2,500! The day was to promote and raise funds for our ambitious building project - to build a trampoline facility adjacent to the Brentwood Centre, capable of hosting international trampolining competitions and Olympic training squads, but most importantly, enabling the club to provide safe trampolining fun and training sessions for all our members and some of the hundreds of people aged 4 - 80 currently on our waiting list. An amazing £5,000 was raised in total. Many thanks to all who supported the day, next years event is already booked so….. watch this space! | ||
